Dear Members of Our School Community and Visitors:
We are having lots of fun with our “Stark Stars Read around the World” activities. Our Stark Stars Ship has visited Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic so far. Our next stops include Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Guatemala, and other Latin American nations.
Students have received reading passports and can earn a star every week that they read at home (20 minutes or more each night) and complete their weekly reading journals.
We are also celebrating the diversity of our school family. During morning announcements, students are speaking about the countries we are visiting, and at lunchtime, students are presenting the books they are reading. Students are encouraged to complete mini-projects about countries and present them!
Please encourage your child to read every night and complete his/her reading journal.
