Meet Dr. Armstrong, Stark's Interim Assistant Principal

Dear Stark Families,

Dr. Lisa Armstrong

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Interim Assistant Principal of Julia A. Stark Elementary!! I am incredibly honored to have been chosen to work alongside Mrs. DeRubeis to lead the instructional efforts at Stark. I am extremely fortunate to serve such a caring community of dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and dynamic learners.

During my 27-year career as an educator, I have served as a Human Resources Coordinator of Talent Acquisition and Development for the past four years and for one year as a Teacher Leader for Student Support at Stark Elementary. Earlier in my career, I was an elementary classroom teacher, reading specialist, and curriculum developer. I grew up in the neighboring town of Norwalk, CT, and completed student teaching in one of Norwalk’s elementary schools.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Central Connecticut State University, a Master’s of Science in Elementary Education and 6th year in Remedial Reading from the University of Bridgeport, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Capella University.
Although I have demonstrated to be an effective teacher in the classroom and have built capacity for the use of effective instructional strategies among many of my colleagues, I am still growing as an instructional leader. I want to “pay forward” the experiences I had as a teacher and district administrator to the many innovative teachers I will serve at Stark.

I look forward to meeting you and your family at Stark throughout the year! There are always students and teachers in need of ideas, resources, a helping hand, a mentor, or a tutor, so please be sure to find out how you can help throughout the school year. In addition, please feel welcome to contact me with any praises, concerns, questions, or ideas via email at larmstrong@stamfordct.gov or by phone at 203-977-5601

In partnership with you,
Dr. Lisa Armstrong
